I have been reading Done Brilliantly quite religiously as of late. They always have all this great information regarding everything that is photography. Couldn’t ask for more!
Recently, they did a series on “Using Styled Shoots to Promote Your Business” which I think was quite fabulous. People sometimes forget that styled shoots are good for business + they are a great way to show off the skills of your favorite local vendors.
The key points that they give are as follows!
1) Styled shoots are a great way to network with other vendors.
2) It’s easy to cater a styled shoot to appeal to a particular type of bride.
3) Many publications love to feature styled shoots, which could improve your chance of getting published.
So here is the styled shoot that was done recently here at Photography By Mélanie! We really did have a bunch of fun doing it. Here are the two mini styled shoots that we managed to cram into one day: The Modern Bride.
In our first shoot we tried to depict a modern bride with a flair for fashion. This one is for those girls who wait for the issue of vogue to come out & who are always on trend. We’ve got some seriously dreamy dresses & cute fascinators in there a la Kate Middleton. Love it!
We got to work with some really great vendors on this shoot, Christina from Kenzo managed to tear herself away from her business to come and deliver us flowers on location even if she was having a SUPER busy weekend at the shop & we managed to borrow some dresses from La Perle Blanche even if she is technically on maternity leave! We honestly can’t say thank you enough to the great cooperation we received from these great local vendors!
